Your AC Has Vital Signs. We Check Them.
A doctor doesn't guess your blood pressure. So we don't guess your system's health either. We measure it with MeasureQuick and show you the numbers.
The General Heating & Air in Cypress, TX uses MeasureQuick, a professional HVAC diagnostic platform, to measure an AC system's vital signs: refrigerant charge, heat transfer, and airflow. Each reading is checked against the maker's spec and graded into a system score. Homeowners receive a written A/C System Vitals Report with the 45-Point Tune-Up, and every new system install is verified with MeasureQuick before the job is considered complete. A checkup for your AC
When you get a checkup, the doctor checks your vitals. Temperature. Pulse. Blood pressure. Each one has a healthy range, and the numbers tell the story.
Your AC works the same way. It has vitals too. MeasureQuick measures them and checks each one against the maker's spec:
- Refrigerant charge. Is there exactly the right amount? Too little or too much both hurt the system, like blood pressure that runs low or high.
- Heat transfer. Is the system actually moving heat out of your house the way it was built to?
- Airflow and filtration. Is air moving freely, or is something choking it?
This is a natural fit for our house. One of our co-founders is a physician. The other spent ten years in the Air Force keeping equipment running, where "it seems fine" was never good enough. Measured and documented is just how we work.
What you're looking at
That's a real A/C System Vitals report from one of our visits this May.
The score at the top works like a grade in school. This system earned a 100% A+.
Below it, each vital sign sits on a gauge. Green means in range. The edges mean too low or too high. You can read your whole system's health at a glance, the same way a doctor reads a chart.
No jargon required. If something is out of range, the report says so, and we explain what it means and what your options are.
The Tune-Up Includes This ReportWhat the score is for
The score isn't a gimmick. It helps you make the two decisions that matter most:
Repair or replace. A system scoring 80 or more is usually worth repairing. A system under 50 may need major work, and replacement may be the better value. With a score, that choice rests on numbers, not on someone's say-so. Our guide to repair vs. replace walks through the rest of the decision.
Was the install done right. A new system installed correctly should score 95 to 100. That's why we verify every replacement install with MeasureQuick before we call it finished. You don't have to take our word that it was done right. You can see it.
Where you'll see it
- On the 45-Point Tune-Up. The written A/C System Vitals Report is part of the $169 visit. It's the report in the photo above.
- On every system install. We measure the new system against the maker's spec before the job is done. Done right the first time is a measurement, not a feeling.
- On Home Protection Plan visits. Twice-a-year maintenance keeps a running record of your system's health over time, the way a doctor tracks your chart year to year.
MeasureQuick questions, answered
What is MeasureQuick?
MeasureQuick is a professional diagnostic platform used by HVAC contractors. It takes real measurements from your system, compares each one to the maker's spec, and turns the results into a report with a score. It shows what is in range, what is out of range, and what that means.
Do I get a copy of the report?
Yes, on a tune-up. The written A/C System Vitals Report is part of what you pay for. On a new system install, we use MeasureQuick to verify the install meets the maker's spec before we call the job finished.
What does the system score mean?
A new system installed correctly should score 95 to 100. A system scoring 80 or more is usually a good candidate for repair. A system scoring under 50 may need major repairs, and replacement may be the better value. The score gives you a number to base the decision on, not just an opinion.
What happens if my score is low?
We show you what is out of range and what your options are, with pricing. Some problems are simple fixes. Some point to a bigger decision. Either way, you see the same numbers we see, and the decision stays yours.
